Hey, I want to burn my clip onto a dvd so i can plug it in the dvd player and watch it,

First what do i have to render it as?, Also what is the best resolution so that it fits on the tv right.

Next how do i burn it onto a dvd disc so that i can just pop it in and it will play?

Thanks.

Do you have DVD Architect?
Render as: mpeg2 and include the audio stream to make it easy. Make sure if your doing 24p that you chose template that matches what you have. If your using architect it will be easy from there. After rendering, bring it into architect and it should be straightforward.

Other authoring programs like avi so best results would be an uncompressed avi than brought in to authoring program.

Well, here's the problem. If he's using DVD Architect, that's exactly what he doesn't want to do. The best workflow with DVDA is to render as MPEG-2 using the DVDA template for either NTSC or 24p DVD (Widescreen if appropriate), and then rendering audio as a separate AC-3 file. THAT will give him the fewest hassles in DVDA -- no re-rendering necessary.

As long as the AC-3 file has the same file name as the MPEG-2 file, DVDA will bring it in automatically. He just needs to make sure he renders the exact same region for both files.
