One question: which dvd burner whould you guys reccomend for burning DVD from VEGAS? Dont go too crazy with the price please.

I need DVD - R and DVD + R as a final DVD format.

Would be cool if you could give me a link to the equipment.

Thanks a lot,

If you order today, you can get this NEC 16x Dual Layer DVD+/-RW Drive for $60.99 with free shipping.

I have heard no complaints about this drive and mine is "in the mail". Not only is this a high-quality, fast, low cost burner, but it also provides the option of burning dual-layer.

Here are the specs:

Write
16x DVD+R
8x DVD+RW
4x DVD+R DL
16x DVD-r
6x DVD-RW
48x CD-R
24x CD-RW

Read
48x CD
16x DVD

Just another option,
Larry

Lite-On has a good dvd burner. They sell them at Wal-Mart under $70.00 if you need it right away.

FWIW, I wouldn't bother burning your movies to DVD+R. The -R burns are still more compatible with desktop players and there is no difference in quality.

PrestonH - I agree, I have had more success with DVD-R also. Just an FYI, however, if you want to do a dual-layer burn you only have the +R option.

Re: DVD Burner to burn your MOVIE

edit: answerd my own question.

But i have another.
do you think its possible to take this internal drive and replace it with the exsisting drive in my comp?
cuz i have one of those weird Narrow base dells that are built for only one drive unless its an external drive that you see in schools or hospitals. (got it for free ;D)
i was thinking of getting the drive, removing the casing, and swaping them out. anyone know if its possible?

Unfortunately, that's the same reason I'm not jumping on the DL bandwagon just yet. The extra capacity doesn't do me a lot of good if it won't play on much anyway.
