I burned an mpeg file to dvd using pinnacle studio 11s create movie option and while it looks great in pinnacle beore burning, the dvd played on my tv is cropped and the image is cut off on all sides.

I know it varies tv to tv and the project I burned is going to be aired on public access tv so I suppose I am going to have to factor that in.

What is the solution to this problem(if any)?

thanks

The solution? Pay attention to safety lines next time and don't put anything important outside of them. Then wait until everyone uses modern televisions that aren't as susceptible to overscan issues.

hmmmm....well I have no problem adjusting titles....but is it just reality that everything I shoot will be clipped or is there any alternatives?

I've read a bit into different dvd burning programs and possibly framing the image with black bars but what is the most sensible route?

Idealy I dont want to comprise image quality and would like to keep it as professional as possible (no slop).

Don't frame it with black bars. Unfortunately, the reality is that everything you shoot has a chance of being clipped, but you can't know when or by how much. It's different with every television, and some don't do it at all. My understanding is that it's not as much of an issue on really new systems and will probably be less of one in the future, but for now you have to assume that some people will see the entire frame, most will see slight clipping and a few will see more. In Premiere safe lines gives you two sets to indicate that.
