DVD Authoring software other than DVDA

Well, I was a little short sighted when I got V 4.0 without DVDA a couple of months ago. I finally got a burner today (TDK 440N External -R/RW/+R/RW) but it comes with Easy CD/DVD Creator 6. It took me all of 5 minutes to master because it is so limited! (I can't even select recording quality much less specific bitrates, etc.) Plus it insists on re-encoding everything itself (a real waste of time) Oh, and the menus suck. So... rather than lay out $399 to upgrade to V 4.0 + DVDA (why don't they offer DVDA alone? They sell CD A alone???) I've got to look for another DVD software package. Ultimately, I'd like to do progressive scan DVD's but can live without that right now. Considering Nero 5.5. Any other suggestions? Anyone use MedioStream's NeoDVD?

hey I use DVDa and am pretty impressed with it, there are only a few features (like modifing animated buttons roll length) that they need to add.

However, Adobe may have a contender with thier new DVD package. When you are looking at a DVD authoring program i found the one thing that tells you if its good or not is the option of adding video backgrounds on the menu. If it doesn't, I consider it crap and your dvd's wont look good, because almost every pro dvd has motion backgrounds.

That said, Of all the cheapo Authoring packages i have tried ( i have tried most of them) I really liked Sonic MYDVD 4.0 (79.00) it has alot of features that the big boys have. You can really output a decent DVD with it, and if photo slideshows are your thing it makes nice slideshows with transitions (good for those behind the scenes making of stuff)

I use impressions pro for my corporate quick DVD stuff and sonic senarist for my "other" stuff. Both support motion title backgrounds and ac3 surround sound. Senarist allows up to 8 different angles also.

I use DVD-lab. I had been fumbling around with cheepo consumer application that dont give you anything but crap!
Check it out, it will do motion menu's Switched menu's or your plain jane stills. you can edit in any photo editing package or just design it with in.
Check it out... http://www.mediachance.com/dvdlab/index.html
Just my two cents worth :)

DVD Architect is the only Authoring Software I have used. I was wondering do others have the 24p setting like DVD-A has.
And DVDA doesn't do subtitles or does it.
