Can't find many posts related to DVD authoring on HD-DVD, so wanted to see what folks' experience has been over here.
Over at AVSForum there is extensive (although slightly dated) thread on authoring HD-DVD content onto regular DVD media which can be read by standard HD-DVD players, using low-cost DVD authoring software (specifically Ulead Movie Factory 6).

Well, I've gone through every post on that HD-DVD authoring thread (using Ulead, Nero, and other intermediate tools), and was wondering if any more efficient HD-DVD authoring solution has been released this year (given most of that thread content is from Q3 last year)? I know Movie Edit Pro 12 and Pinnacle Ultimate 11 are very recent releases. I tried using Ulead with suggested apps outlined in that thread, and continue to have issues with sound (when I used TMPGEnc for encoding) and also an issue with the Toshiba HD-2 player even recognizing the disc when I used Procoder for encoding. I must say the picture looks fabulous in HD-DVD even if I do have sound sync issues.
More specifically, I'm wondering which might offer the most streamlined solution for a workflow like this:
1) Recording DVCProHD on Panasonic HVX200 (using 720p/24fps)
2) Editing in Avid Xpress Pro HD and After Effects
3) Encoding to MPEG-2 transport stream with Procoder (1280x720)
Can Pinnacle Ultimate 11 or Magix Movie Edit Pro handle the HD-DVD authoring piece of this puzzle? Unfortunately, either no demo version is available for these, or demo version is crippled so as not to handle the MPEG2 piece.
Thanks!
Peter
