DVD Architect only way to burn DVD's?

Hey all! Happy Post Turkey Break! Hope everyone had enough turkey over the holidays...

So, I'm working on Vegas Pro 8 and I'm ready to burn a DVD (about 30 minutes worth of short films) but I don't have the DVD Architect software. It sounds like that this software is not very intuitive to use and so I'm hesitant to purchase it...

Is DVD architect the only way to go with Vegas Pro 8? What's the simplest way to burn DVD's from Vegas (if one exists)?

thank you

You can use ANY DVD burning software. Nothing special about DVDA. Though its not very hard to use and has some nice features.

If you want super simple DVD making and you're on Windows...
Use MovieMaker.
I've cut on Vegas and Adobe and then drop the files into MovieMaker and made DVD's.

Or you should be able to create DVD's from the Vegas timeline too.
I've never done that however.

You can't buy DVD Architect separately, anyway.

That said, I actually find it every bit as intuitive and simple as Vegas.

Hey Sheriff,

Thanks for the idea! I've started to play with Windows Movie Maker and some small files can be imported but when I try to import slightly bigger MPEG2 Files an error message comes up that reads:

"C:\Fabes Short Films MPEG2.mpg could not be imported. An interface has too many methods to fire events from"

Not sure what this means but maybe it's that the file has too many tracks in Vegas? I think I have 8 tracks or so a couple video and six audio... is there a way to compress tracks (like flattening an image in photoshop)?

Also do you know, when I burn the DVD in Movie Maker will it be the same quality/resolution as when I use DVD Architect?

thank you,
Blue Lion

I never saw that error message before..... Sorry.
My guess would have been that once you render from Vegas, all tracks would become 1.... I don't know.

The quality is the same but this is for standard def only.
MovieMaker won't burn Blu-Ray.

My Vegas didn't come with DVD Architect. I just bought Vegas Pro 8 the discs, no books or box or anything extra...

Vegas comes in some packages without DVD Architect (though I don't think you can buy it directly from Sony that way), but DVD Architect has never been offered as a separate app. In order to purchase it, you have to purchase Vegas with it.
