First off I want to say thxs ..the information on this forum is priceless.. Ive been learning a lot and try not to ask questions that have been answered already ... but cant find the answer to this.
I bought Vegas Movie studio Platinum It came with DVD architect 5.0* . I believe I followed all the steps correctly but it still wants to recompress my 24p footage to 29.970.. under the properties it states "this product does not support 24p encoding"
Is there a lite version of DVD architect? do I need to purchase another version? Or do I need to check my settings.. and I did the following already
Recorded on my DVX 100b in 24pa
captured as is
changed my property settings to 23.976 (quality is set as good)
edited
rendered to main concept mpeg 2
but it still wants to recompress the video. Also under Optimize Disk it wont allow me to change the settings from 29.970 to 23.976... the option is not there .
If sombody can let me know where the problem might be or direct me to a thread that answered it already I would be grateful...

This is Vegas Movie Studio?

First, merely changing your timeline settings to 23.976 won't mean you're editing as 24p. In order to do that, the pulldown must be removed, and VMS doesn't remove it. So, you're working with 60i files, not 24p files, and cutting it on a different timebase -- which could be disastrous.

Also, I don't think there's an option to export from VMS as 23.976 (though I haven't looked in a while), so your files may be 29.97 anyway. Or, you may have exported a non-DVD-compliant MPEG-2; not every MPEG-2 file is DVD-compliant, and if it's not, it has to be recompressed.

Or, it has to be recompressed anyway, if you exported a single MPEG-2 with video AND sound. The sound has to be removed and re-encoded as AC-3 or PCM.

There's no setting to change to 23.976 because no DVD is inherently 23.976 or 29.97. It's per file. The same disc can carry both, so there's no one setting.

But, the straight answer is probably that the version of DVD Architect which comes with Movie Studio isn't equipped to encode a 23.976 to disc. Why this would be, I'm not sure, but that's probably the score.
