DVD Architecht Problem - Progressive Scan?

I burned off my first dvd of some night footage I took recently. I even made a neat little menu and everything! The trouble is that on every player I play it on, I can hear the occasional skip in the music, and the picture jumps now and then too. I thought I remembered reading something in the manual about checking a setting for progressive scan players, but I forgot about it by the time I burned the disc, so now I need to find out what the problem is and correct it. Any thoughts?

It's because homeburnt DVDs don't have a great reliability track record. Try playing it on your computer -- if it plays fine there, but not on your DVD players, then you're running into the same issue that has plagued home-burnt DVDs since the beginning. Using better media can help improve compatibility.

Well, I guess I'll have to start looking at better media, though I'm not really sure what counts as "better".

Thanks, fellas.

DVDs are only made by a few companies. (Verbatim is one.) They save their best-quality discs to sell under their own names, and then sell the lower-grade discs to companies like Imation, or to retail stores like CompUSA, to sell under their own names.
