I shot footage from an Panasonic HDX-900, recorded in Final Cut via an IOHD to DVCPro100 at the 60fps 2:3:2:3 framerate. I drop the footage into a Final Cut timeline with an editing timebase of 23.98, and everything plays back fine. There is a faint green line over the video track, which means the video plays back, does not need to be rendered. And it plays back perfectly, removing the extra frames. However, when I output the file, I have problems. I have done every output from Quicktime to Quicktime Conversion to Compressor>DVCProHD_24PN, and each time one or several chunks of the output video are jittery playback. When I render the footage in final cut, the same thing happens.
How can I take the original footage I shot and remove the pulldown without going back to the source media?
You may wonder why this is so important.... The DVD's I have output and converted from the 24pNative frame rates always always always look 200% sharper and crisper than the ones from a 60 fps file.
Thanks.
