DVC-PRO HD, HDV and DV in ONE PROJECT?

Let's say for a minute that you have a project that has footage from the HVX, from an HDV camera and has DV footage. What are some suggestions for working with a project like this. I just want to get my melon geared up for the possibilities and how to work in our new prolific format world. What are some ideas about the work flow.

Lets define some parameters:

Multiple formats to HD master for HD broadcast. Which HD format should be used for mastering/on-line edit? (DVC-PRO HD, HDCAM or uncompressed?)

Multiple formats to HD master for filmout.

Multiple formats to HD master for SD distribution non-broadcast (DVD).

Multple formats to SD master for SD Broadcast and for non-broadcast distribution.

Convert the HDV to DVCPROHD first. The DV would be more of an issue. I'd suggest getting the Algolith software to do the best quality upconvert- in FCP alone DV blown up to HD resolution will look pretty awful. Alternatively going back to DV would be a lot better because the HD formats will downrez with much better quality to say 16:9 or 4:3 letterbox.

That all said, the best solution would be to shoot all in one format. That would insure consistent quality and avoid the major headaches, quality loss and time consumption of all that rendering and transcoding.

Yeah, I agree that staying in one format would be the best bet, but I am developing some docs that I know are going to force me to deal with the multi-format problem.

Where can I get more info on the Algolith software?
