I'm shooting a feature film next month and It will cost me $275 a day to rent a dvx 100 a for 10 days do the math that's $2750 I'm just going to buy the dvc 60 or 80 I don't have the money for the dvx 100 and 24 p isn't as important, I'll just get a anamorphic and call it a day.  I need help on which camera might be better which one is closed to the look of the dvx 100 or which one will you get?

Evs online is selling the camers for $2000 and over and here's a link to another place for around $1600 and $1700 http://www.expresscameras.com/display.asp?page=437

Re: Dvc 60 or dvc 80?

I have a DVC-80 and have nothing but good things to say about it. I wish you well in locating one. They've stopped making them and replaced it wiith the DVC-30. I lucked out and bought one with only 15 hours on it on e-bay. As I understand it, the camera is basically the same as the DVX-100, but without the 24p functions. The DVC-80 has larger CCD's then the 60. I seriously doubt that Experss has a new DVC-80, expecially at that price -- their reputation is not the best. Hope this helps.
