DV-Safe Colors

I have a two bedroom apartment that I would like to paint every room a different color for shooting.  I need advice on "DV-Safe Colors".  The living room is already painted in a pratt and lambert color called "putty".  It is a beautiful brown especially when viewed with GE Reveals.  I wanted to know what colors (beside white of course) should I stay away from.  I wanted to use a pastel green in the hallways, an algerian burgundy in one of the rooms and a purple/blue-ish color for the other room.  Any suggestions?

So a rust red is okay? And I've heard stories about the green in the green channel of LCDs. Any thoughts on that?

Re: DV-Safe Colors

I don't really know too much about the green issue you're talking about, but that rust red color should be fine. My living room is sort of a really dark red color (it's called Fine Wine) and I've had no problems shooting in there.

Some rust reds hide intensity...why not simply check with a dvx and paint chips from the hardware store? Better to see them all with your own eyes.

Great idea J Barnes. I actually have some samples with me. I will put them under a tungsten light and shoot some close-ups of the different shades. I was asking to see if there were any shades of colors that was preferred by most DVX owners when shooting. I once met a production designer who had a palette of colors in a binder that was favorable to HD. So she based her designs, depending on the type of movie, on these different shades of colors that goes well with the technology. Thanks again.
