DV Rigs for Small DPs?

Hi all,

I'm a 5'1", 106 lb. female DP based in San Francisco interested in trying and possibly purchasing a "DV Rig" for a Panasonic 100A.

For those of you who've tried these or similar rigs, I'd love to hear your reviews and whether you think it'd work for someone my size.

For those of you who are also small, what rigs have worked best for you?

(I also shoot with the Bogen Manfrotto 3245 Monopod with 3229 Head which is a lifesaver but limits camera mobility. I bought the belt pouch with it, hoping to be able to use it like a bodypod, but, as usual, it seemed made for a 6' man because, at its shortest length, it extends too far out from the waist for me to shoot.)

Thanks!

I have never used the DV rig pro, but I am a pretty short person (Under 5'5). I would imagine the DV rig would work well, unless you have narrrow shoulders. But then again, I have never used it. What sort of stuff are you going to want to use it for?

I don't think they sell DV Rig Pro for DVX100A.

I've been lookin and it seems like it is exclusive on XL-2. Anyone who can refute this has just made my day.

okay i just made someones day.. maybe 2.

The DVrig works with the DVX. I did an article on it awhile back

http://www.dvxuser.com/articles/dvrig/

Anyways, the girl I had test it was 5' 5".. and she didnt have a problem at all with it. They actually make a short and tall pole you can request with your camera for your height.

From Jarreds article-

" Retail price is $579 and is available from EVSonline.com now for $579.95 to DVXuser.com Members."

Hell of a discount. J/K Does this have a maximum weight limit? I'm curious how it would work with a dvx plus a 35mm adaptor.

yeah thats a typo lol.. errrr actually I mean thats the new Jarred Tax.. didnt you hear about it?

as for weight limit, the 35 shouldnt be a problem on it.. its more solid than any other sholder mount out there, tubular aluminum, and there is 2 handles. The spring might not work as good as its supposed to, but it should still work.

Wow, thanks for that. Drinks are on me.
