dv rig pro

if you buy a dvrig pro as it is, will there have to be much tweeking to get it to handle a dvx100 with m2 adapter. or can it just be attached and ready to roll. thanks

My dvrig pro worked ok with my HVX, which is obviously heavier than the dvx. However, once I added a mattebox the extra weight overloaded the support rod. Don't know how much weight the m2 adds exactly, but depending on what type of lens you use (and if you use a matte box) you may max out the the springs in the suport rod--meaning, you wouldn't get any travel on the springs. I solved this problem by adding another stage to the support rod--just a wider pipe with a beefier spring. I removed the spring from the thinnest stage so the support rod remained approx. the same length. One trip to a plumbing supply store does the trick. Not difficult.

No rig with front mounted camera, dvrigpro included, can handle dvx/m2/lense/monitor w /batt. At NAB, We will introduce the new model that will do all the tricks, and few more...

Yes I did. We are on vacation now, next week I will ask one of my mechanics to assemble a rig from old scratched parts and you will have one for your charity work. a standard model, not for a 35mm adapter setup.

thanks so much. even though the rig (will it be dvrig or multirig) is not made to handle the m2. some people have made adjustements to handle the m2. will it break the system. is it doable just not recommended. thanks so much

It wont break the rig, It will break your back, trying to balance 7 Kilos in front of you unless you add another 7 kilos for back balance. its not fun and not really efficiant for long shootings.
