DV Rack by Serious Magic is a fantastic program, anyone who's read my posts will know I'm quite enamored with it. But I've had one big gripe with it since day one, and that's that the monitor hasn't been full resolution. The field monitor component maxxes out at about 300 lines of resolution, even when you put it in full-screen mode.
Well, I just downloaded the HDV Power Pack for DV Rack, and yes indeed, they've fixed the monitor! Not just for HD, but also for DV. Now you can set it to show the full image, and even zoom in on the full image. In fullscreen mode, it looks just as sharp as my 800-line 13" CRT monitor. But you can zoom all the way in and focus even more precisely than you could with the best CRT production monitor, because this gives you digital data and exact pixel representation, and zoomed-in performance.
Man, I think this monitor update was worth the upgrade price alone... as McDonald's would say, I'm lovin' it.
Just thought I'd share, for those DV Rack users thinking about going HDV... if you were going to eventually get the HDV Power Pack, get it now so you can use the updated monitor sooner rather than later, as it's seriously cool!
