DV Magazine Subscription?

DV is a good magazine, so pardon my skepticism here . . .

I tried to subscribe online, but never got a response. Then, I emailed their contact address. They asked for my street address and said they'd mail a subscription application.

Tonight, I received in the mail a bad photocopy of a subscription renewal form. The form said the subscription is *free.*

I can't imagine a magazine like DV would a) have such a shoddy subscription system or 2) would be free.

Anyone else subscribed?

Re: DV Magazine Subscription?

I know that having gone to NAB and Siggraph publisher give out free subscrptions of there mag to "people in the biz"

you might have gotten one of those???

Re: DV Magazine Subscription?

Well, heck, they've already got my address, so what can it hurt to send in the form?

Re: DV Magazine Subscription?

If I'm not mistaken, DV is a free magazine. They make their money off advertisements, not subscribers.

Re: DV Magazine Subscription?

I get a bazillion industry mags free every month. I've also had DV mag a number of times and "lost" the subscription almost as many times - even when renewing. For some reason it's the hardest to get and maintain. I agree that their circulation dept is messed up.
