dv footage burnt on disc importing into FCP

Hello,

When I capture footage I use my dvx and hook it up to my G5 and capture away with no problems using FCP. I fellow enthusiast tells me his is having a problem. He had someone give him a disc with burnt DV footage on it. Now will there be a problem importing this footage into FCP4 from the disc alone? I've always used the my camera to import direclty so I didn't have an answer. Thank you.

Depends on the actual format saved. Is it in QuickTime DV format or some special format?
I would suggest copying the files over to a hard drive and just import from there.
