Dv Decks any suggestions?????

I know I should not be using the camera to import footage into my FCPHD, but I am currently poor and am looking for suggestions on a good cheap dv deck or any other suggestions.....Also what could happen if I use the camera to import the footage...Thank for the help

well i honestly don't think there is such a think as a "cheap" dv deck.

i have one of the sony dv decks with the lcd screen and its great but more often than not i use a sony mini dv camera, a trv 19 for my capturing.

Get a cheap DV cam and use that for transfers. The heads don't last like they do on a pro deck but for $300 what can you expect.

yeah, a deck is a nice thing to have but it's not a necessity... basically until your kit is complete there's always something better to spend your money on. get a canon/jvc/sony/panny cheap minidv cam and use it...

EBAY!

My close friend bought a Panasonic PV-DV53D for $200 on ebay and we both use it as a deck. I use Vegas for my NLE and it works a hell of a lot better than some pro decks I've used in the past.

Search ebay - dude, you'd be surprised what you can get compared to the price of an actual DV/miniDV deck!
