DV DECK or 1-chip Camera?

Well, I am about to purchase my DVX-100B, but do not want to use it as a deck for capturing...any suggestions on this? Is a cheap 1-chip camera a suitable deck?

You'd be good with anything that has Firewire, preferably with S-Video, and analog I/O.

so you guys don't think it's necessary to purchase a deck like the DSR11? Any problems capturing 24P footage via these cameras or using Panny tapes in non-Panny cams?
