dv control

Right now i have two rooms at work next to eachother one is the edit room and one is the studio, i have ran a 50' firewire cable from the camer to the edit system runing vegas, what i am trying to do is make it so i can hit record on the camera and have it record in vegas. is that possible? or do i have to use dv rack?

any ideas?

You need to go into the capture program, into the preferences, and uncheck "Enable DV Device Control." Then, you can accept a live feed.

But no, you can't control it from the camera. You have to click the Capture button in the capture program.
