DV compression question??

When moving from one app to another I often have to export to a new file to use in the next app. For example moving from fcp to aftereffects and then back again.

My question is, when using NTSC DV footage, if I export as NTSC DV does it compress it at all or does the quality remain the same as the original DV footage?
 
Technically no, but visually I think you would be hard pressed to see a difference. For anything not super-critical, which means 99% of the time for me, that is how I move files between apps.
 
Okay cool.

How would you do it if it was something super critical? Would you export as animation or 10-bit uncompressed or what?
