If I copied my movie out to DV-Cam, then re-inputted it back into FCP, would encoding with Compressor be less time consuming then 25 hrs, because there won't be cc on every clip along with audio filters?

**Also, going out to DV-Cam and back in, I realize the footage will be 29.97, correct? So my question is, will it lose it's 'film like 23.98' look?

Is your project taking the 25 hours or the like in Compressor only if you go from the cutting timeline out to Compressor? Have you tried simply doing a File > Export > Quicktime Movie and then taking that into Compressor? That's more or less the same deal as going out to DVCam and then back to DVD. In both cases you are created a "rendered" file that no longer has all the onlining aspects as separate elements.

If you do go to 29.97, for whatever reason or by whatever method, it should maintain a filmic look yes (if your original material was 23.98). That's essentially like shooting 24p (not 24pA) with the DVX100. You get the filmic look but cut at 29.97. But again, I would just export a quicktime movie and take that to compressor rather than going out to DVCam and back in again.

Cheers.
