duplicate item filename

Hi,

I finished editing my movie in low res (Offline RT) and I'm trying to up res it to DV NTSC. I followed some instructions and made a copy of the low res piece using media manager, saving it into a new project.

Then, when I try to batch capture this copy as DV NTSC an alert keeps on popping up saying that there is a "DUPLICATE ITEM FILENAME" and I can either rename the clip or skip. This alert comes up for every single clip of my edited movie. I've tried skipping all of them but at the end it tells me there are no clips to capture.

Can someone please help me?

Thanks.

I'm not really sure what that means, BUT this is what I've been doing for years when it pops up...

I add 01 and then 02 and 03 etc to each of those files. It helps, and I've never had a problem with uprezing stuff before. But I'm not sure HOW it helps.

Do it and you won't have any problems.

Good luck,

I second the advice from the Captain, add a letter or number and it will go on with the process. Seems (to me) like FCPs media manager does this when you have split audio and video edits (like audio before video or vice versa) ... sometimes it gets it in it's head that there are multiple instances of the clip (audio and video separately) and wants to find them all .. but of course they all have the same name because it's from the same source clip.

But I also don't know if that's true, or what the real deal is with this anomaly ...
