Hey All,

Just got an HPX. Looking for a smallish drive to dump footage until I can afford to buy more of them tasty 64 gig E series cards.

Any recommendations for drive models would be appreciated.

I wouldn't go small....but I would suggest buying the drive and enclosure separately and installing the drive in the enclosure yourself....if you have the skill and confidence for such.

buy 7200 rpm
buy sata drives
buy 750gb or more

Last but not least.....read the reviews of the products you are thinking of buying!

Absolutely last, but TRULY NOT LEAST whatever you decide to buy....get twice that. You need to save your footage in two places, cause footage CANNOT BE REPLACED.

G-technology drives have served me well in the field for the past three plus years of shooting with the HVX200. They are rugged and dependable. I yet to have any kind of break-down or loss of data with these drives in the field. Once back to the edit suite I transfer al the files to my two CalDigit SV2R raids for editing.

Simple, dependable and rugged. Perfect for me.
