Dummy Question

Workflow is VERY important. Its how you get from shooting with your camera to handing a dvd to someone. Cameras that use tape have a different workflow than film cameras and different than those that use solid state media (p2). Everyone should develop a workflow that works for them and for their equipment. Didnt realize this was a FCP thread - what camera do you use? Theres a whole forum for HVX workflow...

From WIKI =

"workflow is the operational aspect of a work procedure: how tasks are structured, who performs them, what their relative order is, how they are synchronized, how information flows to support the tasks and how tasks are being tracked."

If I saw a shot that I really like that had obvious post work done to it, I'd ask " what was your workflow?" and expect an answer of the process they took to get that shot.

Basically, it's how you're getting from point "A", to point "B".

Think of it this way; you should be able to diagram your "work flow" in a flow chart on paper.
