Dumb question about green screen, HD and SD

I have to shoot a scene from the interior of someone driving. Outside the windows it'll be green screen. After doing reserch I've come to learn that the color space of HD is better for keying for green screen (obviously) instead SD footage shot with my DVX. If I rent a HD camera and shoot just that scene how would I go about matching the footage to SD footage shot from my DVX. Basically all my footage is SD from the DVX. Can this be done seamlessly? I know I'll have to rescale the HD image to fit SD and loose some of the frame which I have no problem with. I take it I'll probably have to dirty up the image a bit to match the SD. Is this correct?

Actually, not really. I don't think you'll need to dirty up the footage - just rescale it and leave it at that

HD is not necessarily much better if you get an HDV camera. Actually what you want to avoid is DV footage. SD footage will be fine if it is a camera that captures Digibeta or DVCpro50. If you get an HD camera then DVCproHD is better than HDV. All these media will take more storage than DV, and may need special decks or cards to capture them.

If you rented an hvx for the day you could shoot in the 4:2:2 color space and have a much better time keying in post (when shooting DVCPro50 or DVCPro 100 (HD)). The HVX can shoot almost any format and you don't need special equipment of capture cards to do it. If you are editing in final cut, you can just drop the footage into your timeline. So rent the hvx, do somes tests and and composite your footage. Export the scene as a full res .mov (once you have everthing keyed the way you want) and drop the finished scene into your FCP timeline.

Are you saying shoot 24p SD on the HVX? I'm not clear what you are saying. Also when you said " (when shooting DVCPro 50 or DVCPro 100HD) " Can you read what you wrote and clarify. Thanks!

Hello,
Are you editing the key work with Ultra 2 or Combustion? Do you find a big difference in Vector key as compaired with the other key editors?
Cheers,
Christo

I'm using Primatte Keyer in AE. I haven't done tests yet but soon will. I'm just collecting up everyone's suggestions and am going to weigh the best option. Thanks for all the replies.
