Dumb fool needs help!!!

Never had this problem when I had a Mac Pro Tower.

MPB, FCP 2, I just finished ingesting a project and then the bloody thing froze.
I only saved a blank document 3 hours ago and that was the last save.
I'm hesitating to Force quit right now with the hope that some autosave will kick in to save
my careless moronic tush!

I checked the Scratch location and all the files are in there.
In my experience, the bin will be empty when I open up FCP again.

How do I get my files into the browser again? Do I have to ingest again?
Please help!

What time interval do you have Autosave setup for? Ten minutes? Thirty minutes?

You should be able to force quit, relaunch and restore/open from Autosave. Assuming you've setup Autosave. You have setup Autosave, right?
 
Autosave is your friend. Set it up to save frequently, and to save a decent number of backup copies.

I also duplicate my project file before each session, just as an extra measure of security.
 
And if in future youre autosave fails you, you can just import the files from your scratch.
