Dumb EF to E adapters?

I'm looking to get a couple of more Samyang cine lenses for my FS700...
I have two already in Sony E Mount. But was thinking that for future flexibility, maybe it's better to go with the Canon mount...

Do dumb adapters have any negative impact on the image? (reflections etc?)
Is there a big difference between them, or would pretty much anyone off eBay do?

Are there any Speed Booster like adapters on the market without the electronics? (for use with fully manual lenses like the Samyangs). It's unlikely that a Metabones SpeedBooster adapter is financially viable in the foreseeable future, and if there's no cheaper, good alternatives I might as well go with Sony mount and not have to worry about adapters at all.

thanks

The biggest issue with the straight through adapters is buying one that is high enough quality that the distance between flanges is actually correct. After that you can fix most reflections with matte black paint or get some telescope flocking to put inside. The telescope flocking works really well, done that with one of my adapters after I corrected the length.

Yes there are focal reducers without electronics, they do work and some are better than others. The Metabones reducers are still the best image quality, but not sure you can buy it without the electronics.

You could always pick up the older model of metabones speedbooster for sub 350 prices with the circular opening used. As long as you don't use tilt shifts you wouldnt really mind the lack of new coating on the optics. Its a good focal reducer if you already use a normal ef to E adapter.

Both of my adapters have smart optics for full disclosure but i cant imagine there's a difference in em.

hmmm, that sounds a bit too fiddly for my taste... Have no clue really how to correct things like flange distance...

Problem with that is that things like that don't show up so often on the second hand market here in Europe, it seems. And if they do they tend to still be rather expensive... And a new speed booster ultra seems to be close to $900 here...
