Bad Brains are awesome. Who cares if your old, I wish I was old you guys got to live through the cool times. Our generation has nothing.

I think the same thing NO CASH; my generation is crap. the 60's and 70's must have kicked ass (I was born in 1970)

Every generation/decade has it's own cool movements in music/culture/film. The mid sixties produced mass rebellion as well as some of my favorite music. The seventies produced several film classics and ushered in the age of british punk in '77. The eighties had the birth of hip hop as well as some really BAD hairstyles. The nineties had the Seattle thing. What will this decade be remembered for? As it goes right now, it seems pretty bleak.

Oh, low core ambient trip hop music. No wait that was the nineties too! Hard-core-belgian-hard-trance. Yeah, that seems 00's enough!

That's exactly how I feel.

The 60's ushered in some incrdible change in our country; I don;t see music today doing what music did in the 60's. I do not see any movement's or messages; it seems all about money and fame now. These artist's don't seem to wan't to reach anyone much less know what's going on anyway.

The 70's was a time I think when film really meant something; before the birth of the 'Summer Blockbuster'. Films had balls, films said something. They really were autuers and artistes'

Since then? Blah. :thumbdown

Difficult to take offense when one hasn't a clue who the other guy is.

Probably a good thing I didn't post me naked with a strategically placed Les Paul, though. :)

Ah I see your from Germany...well this character is from an American TV show called 'Reno 911' and this guy is the gay Luitenant in charg of the other officers. Funny show in my part of the world.

I was born in '72 and I totally agree with Hudson. The eighties seemed hollow and decadent compared to the sixties and seventies. As others have said, we did grow up in the generation that created hip hop. Back then, it was about community and giving a voice to urban youth. And early hip hop had some crazy style, pre Run DMC track suits (which are cool in their own right.)

My very first concert was Run DMC and the Beastie Boys Together Forever Tour with Davy D opening. It's funny, I saw Davy D on C-Span today and thought of that concert! He's a "hip hop historian and journalist" and still goes by Davy D. Too bad most contemporary mainstream hip hop is unlistenable in both form and content.
