Dual Voltage?  Not Likely.

In an effort to avoid paying all over again when I go back the 'States, should I buy a 220v set here then use 120v bulbs when I get back, or 120v instruments and put 220v bulbs in them for the time being?

If it's just straight-through wiring in them, I don't foresee a prob...at least with the tungstens. I'd imagine the fluorescents have ballasts and such which wouldn't appreciate the different voltages.

Anything else I should be concerned about?

which fixtures are you talking about? i've used lowel omnis all over the world....here with 110 lamps - over 'there' with 220/240v lamps. like you said - unless there is a dimmer involved, the wiring is straight thru. check what your fixtures can 'take' as the 220/240v lamps tend to be in high wattages which equals more heat.

No particular brands in mind at the moment. Maybe the Britek set mentioned elsewhere. Of course, Arri is just down the road a piece...ha ha ha ha ha...my Visa won't stretch that far.

I'm new at this. My past experience has been strictly stage, and those lights were all bulb->wire->plug, not even an on-off switch to worry about.
