oh, man, there are a lot of them. Pretty much, andy new Matrox, Nvida or ATI card comes with dual displays. I currently am using an ATI 9600xt with two 19" CRT's. I upgraded from an Nvida Geforce 4 ti 4200 a couple months back, with the same dual display. As far as video performance in my NLE, I don't think there is any difference, but it sure plays games a lot faster ;D

Video cards are pretty much meaningless for NLEs unless you're using Pinnacle Edition 5.0 or higher. They're good for dual monitor setups, but you don't get any extra bang in rendering or real-time.
Vegas isn't real-time, anyway. (Grr.)

What do you mean not real time? is it because the image is not perfectly smooth during playback? Thats one of the reasons I switched to vegas from premiere. I know its not perfect but it sure helps getting the cuts right.
I use 2 seperate video cards in my pc. 1 ati 7500 all in wonder and 1 ati 7000. with the ati software you can set up two moniters as one desktop and I have 2 17 inch crt's but david is right about video cards being meaningless with nle's. What about the matrox card with premiere? it needs that card for real time doesn't it. I also think you need to get another matrox card to have 2 or 3 displays.

Is there a way to make vegas smooth like pinnacle. My friend uses a liquid silver pc(you know 13 processors..damn)with liquid edition and he loves it but i don't have an extra 24k to spend. ha ha
So vegas's claim to realtime editing is just a wish? I thought it was just my old AMD1700 that made it look that way.
I could not live without dual moniters though. my mac only has 1 and it drives me crazy when I am doing anything. I would like to get 3 moniters and a preview moniter.

You can prerender for smooth motion, but you'll lose that as soon as you make any chnge to the region you prerendered.
Liquid Edition is set up differently, and will be smooth on a single-processor PC.
