Dual Monitor Help

well, monitor A is plugged into the DVI out and monitor B is plugged into the vga to dvi out right? monitor A is working, does monitor a work on the vga to dvi/ does monitor b work on the dvi out. this sounds like one of those math questions but basicly are both monitors working on both outs and they just dont work at the same time?

so neither one works on the vga even if you only have one plugged in? does the second monitor come up in your display properties settings?

(on my dell i have two dvi lcds comming from a video card with one dvi and one vga)

Digital monitor on a VGA port? Ain't gonna work. Those little adapters don't convert digital to analog. *Some* digital ports also have an analog out on them...but no analog port that I've ever seen had a digital out built in...the pins just aren't there.

Both don't work in the vga even If I have one monitor plugged in. The second monitor does not come in display propertie settings.

So you think I need to buy a dual DVI head video card?

Why do they make those adapter when they don;t even work?

well I have both a vga card going to a dvi monitor(dell) and on another computer a dvi card going to a vga monitor(mac mini) both work i think the difference is DVI-I and DVI-D . what model are your monitors?

well if both monitors arent in the display properties/settings then the computer isnt seeing one of them. do you have a vga monitor to test the port?

i dont know if you did this, but it should be the first step once you can see the monitors in the display properties, right-click on the desktop of the working monitor and choose Properties. click the Settings tab and there should be two monitor icons marked 1 and 2. Right-click the icon that's not active and choose Attached, and extend desktop onto this monitor, Click Apply.

Yeah I did that.

im not familiar with those monitors, do they each have their own connection? did you try the vga monitor? and that guy sounds like an idiot.

Yeah they have their own connection.

The VGA monitor DID work but I dont understand why the adapter isn't working.

That guy should be fired.

a. did the monitors come with a cd to install from?
so when you first started the computer with them plugged in did you get a windows has found new hardware...

I don't think so.

OMG the weirdest thing is happening the computer recognizes the other monitor and i can drag my mouse over to it but its still all black.
