I have a small problem.
Im trying to burn about 2hours of hi8 footage for a friend of the boss to a dvd.
I take it into dvd studio pro and it tells me its about 6gigs.
So i get a dual layer dvd+ and dvd studio pro ells me it wont burn a + dual dvd.
So now im trying to find dual layer dvd- and i cant.
Do they make them at all?
Is thier another solution to this?
Can i make it into a mpeg2 and see if the file size shrinks to put on a single layer?

The footage isnt high quality stuff so im not worried about to much compression.

So what can i do?
Thanks!

should be able to fit 2 hours of DVD quality footage on a single layer. Use compressor, make sure audio is AC3 not AIFF. bit rate it around 4.5mbits persecond for the video. then drop that and the audio .ac3 into dvd studio pro.

surprisingly enough. I've never used compressor before.
How do i put those settings, i only see the presets tab?
Thanks again.

infokill! Best avatar ever btw.

but you can use the presets , or just open a preset and tweak it and "save as" for your own for future use. you can use the 120 minute preset in there along with the ac3 dolby digital preset, let it run its course, probably take about 3 hours depending on your machine.
