Dual Adapter in the Field

So I've had this dual adapter sitting in my laptop case since the first shipment. Its been completely useless to me because up until 5 days ago tere was no support for OSX 10.4.9. I downloaded the beta driver the instant that it was available.... its pretty sweet!

I've been timing "dumps" of full 4gb cards and I'm averaging about 1 min 45 seconds !!! Not to mention I haven't had an issue with the system freezing up at all after multiple dumps (the pcmcia slots on older macs are known to stop resonding after several uses without a restart). ---- And even though they don't recommend it at dual-sytems -- I've had no problems with unmounting and remounting the adapter without rerstarting. It's pretty much a wonderful product and definitely worth the $100!!!!

Great to hear Nathan, mine seems like a glitchy unit and they're shipping me a replacement. I'm hoping for the same results you've had. What type of hard drive are you dumping to in order to get such quick dump times? Are you using P2 Genie?

That's awesome, and I've heard the support from Duel Systems is pretty good. I got my adapter about a week ago. It did crash my machine (macbook pro, 10.4.9) one time when I removed and re-inserted the adapter without rebooting, but not since.

Also, I have two 16 GB P2 cards on the way, so I'm excited to get them loaded up with footage and do some copying and see the timing. I've been *getting by* on a 4 GB card for now
