DSR-11 Timecode burn

Hey folks!
I have been using my DVX to make timecode burns for clients but I don't want to keep doing that when I have a deck. I have a Sony DSR-11 deck but I can't figure out how to get rid of all of the other info onscreen and just leave the timecode. I got it down to timecode and "DV sp, NS 48k, DV IN" does anyone know how to only show timecode?
Thanks!
Curtis

Unfortunately, that's the best you can do with the DSR-11. I don't believe there is a way to get the timecode to display by itself, unless you have a physical burn already on the tape.

Fixitinpost is correct. The only way to just have timecode using a DSR-11 is to burn it on your Timeline in whatever package you use. If your FCP based theres a small .dmg programme you can get from my website that allows you to sync up the timecode from your timeline to the recording device your using (DSR-11).

Its called simplevideoout and its in my downloads and freestuff section.

What I do when I have a finished edit is create a new timeline in FCP (making sure it starts at 09 00 00 00 in your preferences). Lay down Colour bars & tone for 30 seconds then a slate name or number graphic for 20 secs (to ID the edit) then a 10 second countdown. At which point the final edit start code will be 10 00 00 00 till the end.

I then export the timeline as a hinted movie, open the movie in simplevideoout, hit record on your deck (making sure your deck has external TC selected) press the space bar in simplevideoout and viola the timecode from your hinted movie is squeezed down the firewire and recorded onto the tape (not visually). That way whoever is previewing the edit can take reference from the actual player timecode knowing that you have an identical sync'd TC.....Does all that make sense?

ok Thanks guys...I thought that might be the case. I was only looking to make a burn of the source tapes with TC for the client to view. Guess I will still need to keep using my DVX for this.
Much appreciated!
