So i'm working on a project in fcp6 and finding that when i render footage ive color corrected, it ends up lighter after the render by about 8% on the scopes. Same thing happens with footage with another video layer on top containing graphics created in motion 3.
Now, before you ask, this is 5dm2-created footage converted to prores422 with 5d2rgb on the flat gamma setting. Yes, sequence settings match clip settings.
With the graphics issue, its not the alpha channel setting (these were exported from motion 3 with animation codec since utvsemmed to be the only way to maintain the alpha channel. Ive tried the different alpha settings and the either make it opaque or the way ive described above. When graphics layer is over black (i.e. i turn off the video layer beneath) it looks correct, only washed out when a video layer beneath.
Ive played with the different gamma settings in fcp, rendering in rgb vs yuv etc., all to no avail.
Lighter gamma is maintained through export and shows up on an external monitor, and its not just when the playhead in the fcptimeline is parked or moving; its consistent.
Hoping someone else on here has seen this issue or maybe heard about it.
Any ideas? Thanks.
