Dropping out of a project.....

For the record, I never said to break your word... I just said deferred pay = no pay.

A free bit of advice to those just starting out... don't take deferred pay deals. It's way better to create a relationship that you think may reciprocate work... or work for free on a project that you deem worth your time and effort... based on others involved, or the merits of the project itself (good script, etc).

When you get hired on for money that's going to come later... or intent to pay... the "promise of money" is the payment... and the reciprocation that you can normally count on... is often out the window, because technically, yes, you have already been paid by agreeing to a deal based on intent to pay... or deferred pay, etc.

Make friends in the industry, and work for those who will work for you... as long as there's no money at least be sure there's something of value in it for you. (again, even just reciprocal friendships)
