Dropping Out a Channel of Audio

Is it possible to drop out one of your channels (left or right) or turn one all the way down on a stereo signal? If I record one channel with a boom mic, and another channel with a lav, can I go in after the fact and choose which one I want to use? I know it is possible in FCP, but (as I'm sure you all understand) I'd prefer to use Vegas over FCP...

sure. First, if you recorded two tracks you'll want to right click on the audio track on the left and choose duplicate track. If not then you can go right to this step. Next, right click on the audio in the timeline and choose the channel you want. You can assign the first one to the left or right and the dup to the other if you recorded 2 tracks.

But you don't have to duplicate the track. If you want the left channel only, just right click>Channels>Left Only. Or, if you want the right channel, Right Only.
