dropping frames on capture

I have just gotten through shooting a revival for a local church (8 days of what was supposed to be at max 2 hours regularly turned into 3hours) Now it is time to capture all of these tapes (3 angles thank the lord that the main cam had a firestore) I am on the 6th service and I cannot seem to get the tape to capture, the tape drops frames in different places everytime so I do not think it is the tape. My capture deck is a canon zr200 handycam, ghetto, but never had any problems with it. Running FCP 5.12 on OSX 10.4.9. I have tried other tapes, but have not been able to switch capture decks yet. I will be trying this this evening, but is there anything else it could be?
 
What drive are you capturing to? In general it needs to be a fast internal or Firewire 800 drive to avoid dropping frames.

sorry.... forgot to mentio that one. I use a 2.5TB Cal-Digit S2VRHD with the cal-digit sata card. All of this is on a Dual 2.5 Ghz Power-Mac G5 with 3 GB of ram.
 
found that the tapes were dropping multiple frames, indicating the different areas, tried 3 different cameras, 2 hard drives etc etc. My problem is now that I need this in a multiclip, and I really do not care about the drops, I just want the clip in one segment. Any suggestions?
