Hello,

I dropped my micrphone recently, its a Sennheiser ME66 Short ShotGun Module Mic connected to a Sennheiser K6 Power Supply Module.

It was powered on at the time, fell off the stand, about 1 meter high, some attempts to break the fall but it hit the ground - tiles. it still works in terms of its picking up audio and it sounds fine.. no dints..

my question is how do i know if its damaged or broken in any way? can a service person open it up to look at it / and / or repair it?

thank you!

if you have bad hearing ask someone else or bring same mic to comper.
if you suspect its not good-eBay it , eBay it anyway

Its probably a good idea to take it to a qualified repairperson. Even just a visual inspection could reveal physical damage that could become much worse over time. If it were my mic, I'd take it in soon if only for the peace of mind.

My MKH416 once picked up a mysterious rattle when tilted, and upon openning it up I saw that a ferro-magnetic collar had come loose. Little things like that are best caught before they become a problem half-way through a shooting day.
