Dropped frames on capture MacBook Pro, pls help

Just bought a Macbook Pro and installed FCP 5.0

Whenever I try to capture footage from DVX100b it droppes frames. Disabling the abort on dropped frames doesn't work, as it actually droppes frames.

Using setting of DV - PAL when capturing, the videos weren't shot in squeeze mode

Tried many tapes

What could be the problem?

Could it be FCP is still running slow on Intel's?

If you're capturing to the internal drive, that may well be your answer.

Also upgrade FCS

You probably should also update to FCP 5.1.2, if you haven't already. Capturing to the start-up drive can cause problems because the OS makes demands on the drive that take away from the resources available for capturing. You should generally capture to a drive other than your start-up drive, which might be a second internal drive on a desktop or an external drive on a laptop.
