Dropped frames -- I think I know what's wrong...

As I was finishing up my short film in FCP 3 using 24p in a 29.97 sequence, I got the first dropped frames I've ever gotten when I started putting in a couple of songs from a cd. I think they might not be the right rate or something. When I imported them, I just clicked import, then file, then they showed up in my browser. Then I double-clicked them and set my in and outs in the viewer. Then I dragged them into the sequence using the hand thingy at the top of the viewer. I never changed any rates. Should I have, and if so, where? If not, and I did everything right, any suggestions on what it might be that is causing the dropped frames? Also, what will I need to do to correct the dropped frames? Delete the audio track, re-import it with a changed rate and stick it back in? Or is there more?
Thanks
Nathan

Re: Dropped frames -- I think I know what's wrong.

CD's are normally 41khz(?) and your video is 48k so typically there will be a speed difference unless you change it on import (or export from whatever program you're using). Check the help files with FCP for details. Note that you should see color bars on the timeline indicating when you're adding material that needs to be rendered.
