I don't know what the heck is causing drop frames! I have a 2 minute piece that I am editing and I have played the whole thing start to finish several times with NO problems. I needed to letterbox all of the clips because you can see vignetting in the frame from the Matte Box. When I did that all of the sudden its dropping frames. I am using a Mac G5. The prompt is telling me to turn off unlimited RT which I have been using SAFE RT; Lower the Compression Rate (not sure where this is or how to do it or what to lower it to); Close Open sequences...I did that; Increase the speed of my system or disk drives. I still have plenty of space on drives and like I said I am using a G5, my system is quick from the get go.
Any suggestions? When I play the video back and gets to that point where the drop frames are the play head keeps going but the clip is frozen. So do I have to delete that clip from the timeline then drag the same clip back into the timeline..will that work? I don't know why adding a letterbox would cause drop frames to occur.
