Drop 60p into 24p timeline?

I am trying to drop a 60p file into a 24p time line but the 60p file plays at 100% still. I heard FCP5 automatically conformed the 60p to 24p making it slower. How do I set up FCP6 to do this?

Thanks.

That's not true. FCP conforms the video to play at the rate of the sequence AND the video. If the video is 60 frames per second (60p) and the sequence is set to 24 fps the first frame of each second will be the first frame of each second. FCP mushes and crunches the video to fit.

NOW... if you want the video to play as progressive AND the first 24 frames of the 60 per second ARE one second you need to take it to CINEMA TOOLS and CONFORM to 24.

Then it will play in slow motion.

ok I guess I was just hoping for a faster workflow for this... But I didn't realize that cinema tools did that so fast!

Thanks
