Drobo mini used for backup only?

Drobos aren't practical for any purpose. It's unbelievable they've made the name for themselves the way they have. They are slow and unreliable. Every few years I consider a drobo but quickly convince myself against them when I realize they are still extremely slow. Looks at MacSales Qx2 for an affordable RAID5
