Drobo disk array

I have been tasked with looking into a disk array that will allow two mac pros to work from the same array. A Drobo array with an iSCSI connection was brought to my attention but I am a bit skeptical about editing off of that. Currently we are using a single OWC raid connected to our only Mac Pro tower with an esata card. The future plan is to get two workstations on line that can work on the same project without having physically move the drive from machine to machine. In a perfect setup with a 20k budget I would get a CalDigit SuperShare and a HD24 array. The Drobo looks interesting but I can't find any reviews of it from editing professionals to even know if it would work. Any thoughts?

I have a friend who use drobo, but he use Windows 7 in the machine, the startup of system (Windows 7) is veeeeeeeery slow, but when he needs edit, works fine like a HDD internal performance, i don't know the performance of Dobro using two machines at the same time for video editing, but for one machine works great.

See ya
