Driving POV shot,

I want to shoot a shot which is a kind of driving time lapse, were the camera is pointing out the front of the car so you only see the road. I want it to look as smooth as possible but don't just want to speed up normal footage.

Should i just use my regular time lapse setting, 1FPS with a slow shutter?

Flying like Superman with Lois Lane or flying like Superman to bring Lois back to life ?

1fps is going to be madness like the speeder bike scene in Jedi (which is what I believe that shot it at).

ahh, yeah, 1fps might be a little fast, maybe 5 or 10,

I will do 5 one way and then adjust accordingly on my way home.

I'm going to monument valley next week, wanna do a shot driving down that long straight road.

cheers

The speeder bike was actually shot at 3/4 fps (randomly just read an article on it a few days ago). Unless I'm mistaken though, a time-lapse setting of 1 fps is going to do the exact same thing as speeding up normal footage 30x, except locking you into that speed.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it sounds like you want a slow shutter to reduce the shake noticeable with under-cranking footage. Something else I got from the speeder bike article is that while in principle that idea works, it looks like junk. You really need to have the camera locked down if you want it to look faster than normal (they had several stabilizers and 4 people watching balance on the steadicam shots through the forest). So a hood mount or a tripod held down inside the car would work. Or you could just rent a really fast car as another, more fun option.

Thanks

That was a great help, i think 3-5fps is going to work for me, hell, i'm just gonna go out now and test it :)

Nice footage by the way
