& Yet it was obviously good storytellin' to mine.It was obviously digital, to my eyes....
...unless the focus is obviously on the tech (which happens more and more).I don't think any audience member that's just an audience member cares about tools during any story, good or bad.
I've never heard someone walk out of a bad movie and go "Man I can't believe they wasted film on that."
Guess it's just the most popular diatribe.
...unless the focus is obviously on the tech (which happens more and more).
The example I gave was Public Enemies...even the most...¿Cómo se dice?...casual film-goers said, "That don't look like a movie."
articles.I'm probably wrong about this, but I remember reading, more than twice, that it was done on purpose in regards to the way Public Enemies was shot. It's a case of someone wanting to do something different, and the result was something that didn't look like a traditional feature narrative film...
I'm just saying it's only a distraction if the filmmaker lets it be one.
Is it a "handicap" on some level, when compared to a Panavision 35mm?
sure, why not.
I'm saying
--as a right-brainer who ranks what camera something was shot on somewhere between product placement and background casting--
that it was the first time in a long while that I said, "Whoa, that was digital?? Cool."
