Drive Lapse

I have to agree with Drew.

I liked the general clips forum the way it used to be where everyone's clips were listed all in one section. Now that it's separated, I almost never check out the XL2 or FX1 clips anymore. It's almost as if that was the way it was planned all along....<insert evil laugh here>

That clip rocked my word, Drew! So good!
What song was that? It worked very well with your incredible visuals.

And when is your compilation DVD coming out?

Your Drive Lapse was incredible. Beautiful. ...If it weren't against the law I'd marry your video and have cute (video) babies with it!

Projx, thanks for seeing it my way. Now the big thing would be to get Jarred to see it that way also. I also never go into the XL2 or FX1 forum, not because I don't want to see the footage. I just like to search in a couple places. Maybe that says I'm lazy or something... Thanks for the nice comments.

I have to shoot a lot more stuff before I make a compilation DVD. Right now I think I have a little over 3 minutes of footage, maybe 4.

The name of the song was "Masters of the Universe" and the band is Juno Reactor. If you ever watched the "Animatrix" you would have heard it on there.

PK, I don't think it would be against the law. You might get some weird looks from people at the wedding when your holding a mini DV tape and kissing it at the end.

Just for the record, next time I post one of these clips its going to be in the photography forum unless the clips section changes its format.

Hey drew, gotta question for you. You said you reached the limits of your 1 gig card at 800 plus frames. What rez were you shooting at. I have found that if I shoot at the lowes jpeg setting, that is still more than enough for HD resolutions. I shot a short film recently that I am finally finishing up that used 1000's of frames from a still camera for some shots, and easily got 1500+ frames for each card, at a resolution of 1536x10something. Just curious.

Scharky, I was shooting at the medium resolution on a 20D, which is a 8.2MP camera. If I do it one lower it would be just below HD rez. 1920x1080 is what I'm using as an HD resolution standard. I know that there are different opinions about the rez of HD but that's what I'm using. Now if I wanted to get some more footage out of the 1GB card then I would use your idea of bumping the rez down to the low jpeg, which still would be fine. I just want it at the highest rez I can get right now so I can sell it and so I can use this footage with the HVX footage once it comes out.

Ahh, gotcha. Yeah, I just upgraded recently to the Rebel XT, rented a 10d for the shoot. I was going to work with it at medium resolution, but since I was mixing it with uprezzed DVX footage, it didn't matter, and I actually ended up softening it just a little bit to match the DVX resolution. But I must say that the DVX held up quite well with the 10d footage.

Drew, you and your camera are making me insane!!!!!! I love it!!!!! I think hudson was close about following one car, but I think you should lead a car. It should follow you. And your stuff is cool the same way Disjecta's stuff is cool, just different.

Future User, I was thinking about having the mount in the rear of the car shooting behind me. I think that would be cool. Also to have the same mount on the rear windsheild but have it facing forward to get the inside of the car. I might be trying that rather soon. Thanks for the comments.
