drama story : how to come up w/ ideas?

I am trying to nail down some key elements of drama, how it dffers from other genres. That helps a lot Bill, thank you.

...For a drama, the conflict is more personal, less global. Stakes are lower... but in a way, higher (more personal). Instead of horror scenes or shoot outs, you are going to have big dramatic blow ups. See - something *has to* blow up in a script. It could be a big dumb explosion that the heroes are out-running, or it can be an explosion of emotion. But something will be exploding.- Bill

you probably know more about drama than you think. unless you are writing two dimensional characters or cliche's in your horror scripts, you have most likely written dramatic situations. Just remove the blood and guts and dive into your characters minds and hearts

That is definitely a goal of mine, to play on good drama in supernatural thrillers or horror, really get the story going in the direction of inner emotional stories that become as important as the external story.
